Department of Health Economics

We conduct quality assessments and economic evaluations such as cost estimates and cost-effectiveness analysis in health and long-term care services for older adults, utilizing large-scale real-world data (RWD).

Research focus

  1. We conduct quality assessments and economic evaluations such as cost estimates and cost-effectiveness analyses in health and long-term care services for older adults, using large-scale real-world data (RWD), including National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Checkups (NDB), the Long-Term Care Insurance Comprehensive Database (Long-term care DB), and private sector claims databases.
  2. We contribute to optimizing resource allocation in health, long-term care, and social care services for older adults.
  3. We develop evidence to support political and social decision-making for achieving a sustainable, healthy, long-lived society.
