Analysing Metabolic Disorder of Amino Acid and ADME of Amyloid in Human Body System.

Purpose

   The mechanism that triggers metabolic disorders of amino acid or protein has not been fully elcidated yet.

1. Developing nano-analysis system for amyloid and tau from blood or urine.

2. Clarifying origin of the amyloid accumulating in the human brain.

3. Pathophysiologic analysis of tryptophan metabolism.

4. Evaluation of functional food that describes as healing dementia.

Summary

  There has been no system that could precisely estimate variety and amount of amyloid(s) from blood or urine samples. If precise amount could be detectable as a simple and easy way, prognosis for many illness would be possible and accurate effect of diagnosis would be known. We think it is most important to develop a nano-analysis system of proteins and more. This project is belonging to the 'Knowledge Hub Aichi' project operating by Aichi prefecture.

  We are studying on the origin of amyloid protein accumulating in the human brain using the human cellular system.  If the origin would be cleared metabolically, the diagnosis target would be unveiled.

  We have previously shown that disorder of tryptophan metabolism has been observed in the brain of AD patient. We are developing novel medical treatment by determining the exact cause of the metabolic disorder.

  By the way, there is some food which used to say to heal dementia, although the effect is considerable difference of opinion from one person to another, and the therapeutic effect seems unclear. We are focusing on some natural food containing antioxidant and studying the effect on aged mouse.
