We address elderly patients typically with hypertension, arrhythmia (including artificial pacemaker implantation), ischemic heart diseases (angina pectoris, myocardial infarction), or heart failure (valvular heart diseases, cardiomyopathy and myocarditis).
Currently, four physicians are in charge of outpatient services every business day in two consultation rooms: reexaminations in the second consultation room (appointment basis) and the initial examination in the first consultation room (no appointment required). The medical team is on staff for 24 hours for patients in emergency conditions such as acute myocardial infarction and complete atrioventricular block.
To provide uniform care and to decrease the length of hospital stay, we apply clinical paths to examination/treatment requiring hospitalization such as coronary angiography (for diagnosis of angina pectoris or myocardial infarction), coronary intervention (for coronary revascularization with a balloon or metallic stent directional athelectomy), and artificial pacemaker implantation.
