About LoRRe
The mission of the Laboratory of Research
Resources (LoRRe) is to conduct multidisciplinary
basic research studies that increase understanding
of the causes and mechanisms leading to brain
dysfunction and degeneration in Spinocerebellar
Degeneration (SCD) which includes hereditary
and non-hereditary types.
We also manage a brain bank in which we store
samples of post-mortem brain tissues and
samples of cerebrospinal fluids (CSFs), largely
from patients with neurodegenerative disorders.
Neurodegenerative disorders are unique to
human beings, and brains from other animal
disease models are of limited value for research.
Human brain donation is very important. Donating
disease brain will greatly contribute to
the progress towards understanding the causes
and mechanism of the diseases.
Our final goal to research is to establish
the treatment of the neurodegenerative diseases.

Please help to support the LoRRe.
This is a wonderful way to support research
conducted by the LoRRe. Caring individuals,
through their support, make possible the
scientific advances necessary for establishing
a treatment for Spinocerebellar degeneration
and other neurodegenerative diseases.
