Objectives and Roles

To clarify the mechanisms of tissue regeneration, and develop safe and effective prevention/ treatment methods for disorders of elderly people including Sarcopenia, Fraility and Alzheimer’s disease, etc.

Summary of Research Activities

  1. Found age-dependent downregulation of humoral factors that are relevant for muscle regeneration in mice.
  2. Established human myogenic cell lines from healthy and dystrophic muscles.  They are useful for the study on human muscle regeneration and diseases.
  3. Discovered epigenetic modification during aging of Zebra fish and in human diseases.
