Objectives and Roles

Overall aims are (1) to elucidate the mechanisms of cognitive impairment and clinical onset of dementia through interaction between energy metabolism and cognitive function and (2) to translate basic research findings into clinical application. The goal of our research is to develop potential prevention and new therapies for cognitive impairment and dementia.

Summary of Research Activities

  1. Roles of neural metabolic signaling in cognitive function
  2. Systemic regulation of cognitive function through interaction between endocrine system and central nervous system
  3. Search for potential biomarkers of preclinical dementia, and development of novel prevention and therapies for cognitive impairment and dementia
