Objectives and Roles

The aim of our study is to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying aging and aging-associated diseases.

Summary of Research Activities

  1.  In response to intrinsic and extrinsic stress, cells undergo irreversible growth arrest called cellular senescence. We investigate molecular mechanisms of stress signaling pathway that leads to cellular senescence.

  2. Cellular senescence is involved in several aging-associated disorders. Using animal models, we investigate the physiological roles of cellular senescence in tissue aging.
