Aging Homeostasis Research Project Team

Objectives and Roles

We are focusing on age or nutrient-dependent changes in tissue communications as well as cell-cell interactions to understand the molecular mechanisms that regulate tissue homeostasis and lifespan.

Summary of Research Activities

  1. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying dietary restriction dependent lifespan extension using fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster.
  2. Understanding the mechanisms for age dependent disruption of gut integrity using the molecular genetic tools of Drosophila.
  3. Identifying a novel gene or molecule, which impacts on longevity, that shows age or nutrient dependent expression changes using genome-wide analysis.
