Osteoporosis Clinic

Ultimately aiming to prevent fractures in the elderly, the Osteoporosis Clinic assesses risk factors for osteoporosis and those for falls concurrently to provide treatment effective for both. For this purpose, we provide appropriate treatment for osteoporosis extensively considering each patient's history of fractures or falls, drugs in use, and nutrition, not to mention measuring bone density at relevant sites and the levels of bone resorption/formation markers. To patients at high risk for falls, we introduce preventive measures in collaboration with the Fall Prevention Program. Thus the physicians in charge are selected from various specialties including Orthopedics, Internal Medicine (Endocrinology), Rehabilitation, and Gynecology.
